Creative TV Ads

For many people, that title is simply an oxymoron!
But I maintain that clever and creative ads are still being produced -- and without much glitz, bells and whistles.
Here are some examples, which I invite you to watch — and enjoy:
1. The Serta Mattress 'Shaun the Sheep' series from about ten years ago, relate sad episodes where Shaun and his jumping buddies (all numbered!) are no longer needed, led to an entire industry.
There are now 'Shaun' cartoons on BBC Kids, and even a 'Shaun' Movie.
BTW, the name ’Shaun’ comes from the Australian pronunciation of the word, ’shorn,’ according to one theory!
2. The ‘Aflac Duck’ series spoofs tv sports shows.
In 'Berra at the Barber' the vocal duck struggles in vain (as do we!) to process the famous Yogi's explanations about insurance.
Can you imagine the aftermath of the conversation when you tell someone you work at Aflac?
‘Aflac! — Aflac!’ delivered in a duck voice.
The next three come from a series by ‘amazon:’
3. In 'Dog in Cast' a man buys a baby carrier, so his limping dog can go for a walk in the park with him.
4. In 'Lion Dog', a daddy buys a lion’s ‘mane’ for their pet golden lab., to soothe their spooked, crying baby.
5. In ’Knee Pads', two old buddies, a priest and an imam, who both experience sore knees, buy knee pad gifts for each other, and are later each shown kneeling at prayer.
6. Finally, in a clever 'east coast' ad, created by Halifax’s Extreme Group, called ’Made Different- Get Fluffy’ a Newfoundlander out walking his pet lobster — 'Fluffy' — offers a new neighbour from Ontario a bottle of Captain Morgan rum as a house-warming gift.
The rum is a different colour from that brand sold in Upper Canada, because it is 'made different on the east coast.'
A second version, the Director's Cut shows the pet lobster actually 'walking' down the street!
Those are six of my fave. creative TV ads.
Please send YOURS along, so we can all enjoy them!
