Vive 'Movember'!

For the last three weeks, I have been sporting a moustache. There is nothing odd about that, because I had one for more than 28 years during my teaching career. (I probably started it so that I would look older that my high school students!)
I have a more important purpose this time, as I am joining the ''Movember' movement with my brothers from around the world. This organization is set up to promote awareness of men's health, and raise money for research, primarily into prostate cancer.
To learn more about this campaign, check out their website.
They state:
We want everyone to know that most cancers are highly curable if caught in the early stages - including prostate and testicular cancer. Movember aims to increase early detection, diagnosis and effective treatment, as this will ultimately reduce the number of deaths from cancer. It’s time men face the startling health facts.
...
Maintaining a good diet, smart lifestyle choices and getting regular medical check-ups and screening tests can dramatically influence your health.
Then you can learn about Prostate Cancer Canada, the major beneficiary.
Some of the (unofficial?) rules for growing a 'mo' are rather interesting:
-- A 'Mo' Bro should begin his 'mo' and register his participation on November 1.
-- The 'mo' should not touch other facial hair, such as sideburns, or a beard.
-- It should be kept neat and tidy, with regular maintenance.
-- The 'Mo' Bro should join fellow 'Mo' Bros and 'Mo' Sistas for a 'Movember' party on November 30, to celebrate greater awareness of men's health. And finally,
-- A 'Mo' Bro should conduct himself like a gentleman at all times.
Sad to say, I did not "register" on November 1, but I appear to have an acceptable 'mo' from that date.
As to the 'gentleman' conduct requirement, we shall see how that goes!
I AM happy to report that a number of people in my social circles are talking note of my 'mo' and we are all discussing the goals of this campaign.
BTW, as of today, Canada leads all other countries in the amounts of donations.

FLASH NEWS: Sidney Crosby is Back!
The hockey star from Cole Harbour is set to return to the ice tonight, to lead the Pittsburgh Penguins against the New York Islanders.
His return has been highly anticipated, since he was sidelined last January after suffering a series of concussions.
Check out CBC Sports for all the pre-game stuff.
The game will be televised and live streamed, beginning tonight at 8 Atlantic, on a special edition of 'Hockey Night in Canada.'
P.S. on Nov. 22: 'Sid the Kid' got a rousing reception last night, scored two goals, added two assists; won 67% of his faceoffs. Penguins beat the Islanders, 5-0.
